Mr. Satish Kumar Kaura is the Chairman & Managing Director of the Samtel Group. He founded the Group in 1973. Under his leadership, Samtel has evolved into a world-class manufacturer of high technology electronic display devices for televisions, avionics and professional applications. He has steered the Group to its current leadership position by relying on indigenously developed in-house technology.
Mr. Kaura is the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry's Industrial Policy Committee and is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. He is also a member of Defence Research & Development Organization’s Review Committee & Prime Minister’s Scientific Advisory Council. In the past, he has been President of Electronic Components Industries Association and served as Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (Northern Region).
Mr. Kaura is the recipient of numerous awards and honors. He is the first recipient of Indian Institute of Technology’s (Kanpur) Distinguished Alumni Award (1989). The Electronic Industries Association of India and Consumer Electronics & TV Manufacturers' Association have honored him with their ‘Electronics Man of the Year’ awards. In 1994, HRH Prince Phillip awarded Mr. Kaura the Care for Nature Award in recognition for his concerns for environment protection. The Lucknow Management Association honored him with the Uttar Pradesh Transformational Leadership Award in 2002, for his contribution in strengthening the economy of the state. The Society for Information Display conferred a Special Recognition Award in 2005 for his outstanding entrepreneurial leadership in the display industry in India.
Mr. Kaura was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2004 for his distinguished services to the nation, in the field of Science and Engineering.
Mr. Kaura holds an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and a Masters Degree in Electronics, from Carleton University, Canada. | | Top | | | |

Samtel Display Systems Limited
Puneet Kaura is Executive Director at Samtel Display Systems Limited, one of the emerging businesses in the Samtel Group.
After earning a Management Degree with a specialisation in Marketing from Bentley College in the United States, Puneet joined Corning Incorporated, USA as a Management Trainee. Thereafter, he joined the Samtel Group and was deputed to Samtel Electron Devices at Ulm, Germany. During his stint in Germany, Puneet developed a great interest in avionics and avionic displays.
On his return to India, Puneet joined Samtel Display Systems Limited and has worked very hard to build this emerging business from scratch. Samtel’s joint venture with India’s major aircraft maker, HAL marks a new landmark in this business and Puneet has played a very responsible role in developing this business. He has also been a member of the core team that has worked to set up the latest joint venture for avionics with Thales Aerospace.

D.V. Gupta is a Post Graduate in Chemistry with a subsequent Post Diploma in Business Administration with specialization in Cost & Budgetary Control and Materials Management, and has 35 years of industry experience.
He began his career with in the synthetic fibre industry in 1972, and gained experience in Quality, Process control, Improvement projects, Production and Commercial Areas; along with getting Six-sigma training.
He moved from RP Goenka group to join Samtel in 1987, and after a few years of managing exports, took charge of Teletube Electronics as commercial head. As Business Manager of this SBU, he lead the unit on a high growth path by improving margins, and entering into new product and market segments including Indian and overseas defence. He later moved to Samtel India Ltd., and then to Samtel Glass, Kota as Vice President (Operations). He currently leads the operations at Samtel Color as Executive Vice President. | | Top |

Ranjit Madan
Executive Vice President – Strategic Planning and Business Development
As Executive Vice President , Ranjit Madan is responsible for Group Strategic Planning and Business Development, and leads the diversification efforts of the organization. He also provides support to Samtel Electron Devices, Ulm, Germany.
An Economics (Hons) graduate from St. Stephens College, Delhi University, he did his MBA from IIM – Ahmedabad. He has also undergone the Executive Development Program conducted by Henley Management College, UK. A recipient of Inaugural Henley Management College Bursary Award and Salzburg Study Seminar Award, he also has the Wright Travelling Fellowship, ICI- UK to his credit.
Ranjit Madan has over 25 years of rich working experience with MNCs such as ICI, Mobil and Ciba. He spent 15 years heading business units, handling the Asia Pacific region, based in Singapore. He moves to Samtel from Grauer and Weil (India), where he was the Group COO. |

 | Manvinder S. Kohli
Business Head
Samtel Machines
After completing his Engineering in Electronics & Communication from Anna University in 1984, Manvinder S. Kohli joined Samtel Group in 1985. Since then, he has been instrumental in leading many successful ventures for the Group.
In his initial years, he was instrumental in Technology Absorption of Color Tubes from Mitsubishi and setting up the project at Samtel Color, and was later involved in developing the Market for Color Picture tubes in the country as Application Engineer. He later set up International Markets for Display Tubes in Far East (Taiwan, Korea, Japan, China) & Europe, and then headed the All India Marketing team of Samtel’s Computer Monitor business between 1997-2002. He was also instrumental in developing the Plasma Display Technology as Project Head, and brought in global expertise into the inhouse development effort.
Currently, he is heading the Industrial Automation & Special Purpose Machines arm of Samtel, and is an Apex Team member at the Samtel Group.

General Manager - Operations

Rajiv Sethi heads the operations function at Samtel Display Systems Limited, one of the emerging businesses in the Samtel Group.
Rajiv has done BE (Hons.) and followed it up with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management with specialization in Finance.
Rajiv joined Samtel group as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in 1987 and since then has grown through the company’s hierarchy while working in different functions like manufacturing, maintenance, process engineering, corporate projects, R & D, etc.
Before joining Avionics business group, he was working as part of Plasma Display Panel development team for developing the technology and product indigenously. Prior to this assignment he was working as General Manager (Corporate Projects) and was responsible for evolving and setting up world class, state–of–art manufacturing facilities. Prior to the role in Corporate Projects, he was heading the Operations of one of Samtel group factories as Plant Head. | | Top | | |
